The Diefenbaker Homestead
These buildings were the boyhood home of the Rt. Hon. John G. Diefenbaker, P.C., Q.C., M.A., LL.B., D.C.L., M.P., Prime Minister of Canada, 1957 – 1963. In 1906, at the age of eleven, he helped his father build the larger house in which the family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Diefenbaker, John and Elmer, lived near Borden for four years. John slept in the smaller house which was owned by his uncle, Mr. Ed Diefenbaker, and located on an adjoining quarter section.
