Southampton War Memorial

This stone cairn is on a centre island in the middle of High Street. The cairn features two brass plaques, one for each of the World Wars, with the names of the men from this town who gave their lives in the great battles. The plaques also pay tribute to the men from the nearby Saugeen First Nation who laid down their lives. Behind the cairn is a large cross.

Ce cairn de pierre se trouve sur un îlot central au milieu de High Street. Le cairn comprend deux plaques de laiton, soit une pour chaque Guerre mondiale, ainsi que les noms des hommes de cette municipalité qui perdirent la vie durant ces grandes batailles. Les plaques rendent également hommage aux hommes de la Première Nation de Saugeen avoisinante qui sacrifièrent leur vie. Une grosse croix se trouve derrière le cairn.
