Sir Arthur Currie Statue

The memorial, consisting of an inscribed granite base and a life-sized bronze figure of General Sir Arthur Currie, was sculpted by artist Adrienne Alison. The statue is in front of the Museum Strathroy-Caradoc, next to the cenotaph memorial on Frank Street in Strathroy. It was unveiled on August 4, 2014, dedicated to the memory of General Sir Arthur Currie.

The unveiling event included a cadet parade, band performances, military re-enactor demonstrations and the participation of a number of distinguished guests, project supporters, and descendants of General Sir Arthur Currie.

Ce mémorial formé d’une base de granite portant une inscription et d’un bronze grandeur nature du Général Sir Arthur Currie a été sculpté par l’artiste Adrienne Alison. La statue se trouve devant le musée Strathroy-Caradoc, à côté du cénotaphe commémoratif de la rue Frank, à Strathroy. Il a été inauguré le 4 août 2014 et dédié à la mémoire du Général Sir Arthur Currie.

La cérémonie d’inauguration comprenait un défilé de cadets, des numéros de la Musique, des démonstrations de reconstitution militaire et la participation de nombre de distingués invités, de partisans du projet et de descendants du Général Sir Arthur Currie.
