Reverend John Gough Brick
Born in England, he came to Western Canada as a missionary of the Church of England in 1882. Between that date and 1894 his agricultural experiments at Fort Dunvegan, Old Wives Lake and the Shaftesbury Settlement revealed the wheat growing possibilities of the Peace River Country. He died in New York.

Né en Angleterre, Brick s’établit dans l’Ouest canadien comme missionnaire de l’Église anglicane en 1882. Ses expériences agricoles au Fort Dunvegan, au lac Old Wives et à la colonie de Shaftesbury jusqu’en 1894, démontrèrent les chances de succès de la culture du blé dans la région de la rivière de la Paix.
