Port Moody
Colonel R.C. Moody, R.E., recognized the potential value of Burrard Inlet for military defence. Named in his honour, Port Moody became the western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Although a branch line was built in 1887 to the growing city of Vancouver, Port Moody’s docks continue to serve ships of the world.

Le colonel R.C. Moody, des Royal Engineers, a reconnu la valeur potentielle de l’inlet Burrard pour la défense militaire. Nommé en son honneur, Port Moody est devenu le terminus ouest du chemin de fer du Canadien Pacifique. Bien qu’un embranchement ait été construit en 1887 jusqu’à la ville en pleine croissance de Vancouver, les quais de Port Moody continuent d’accueillir les navires du monde entier.
