Our First Tourists
On July 1863, Lord Milton and Dr. Cheadle laboured through this rugged mountain pass on a trans-continental tour. The Englishman, travelling ‘for pleasure’ with an Indian guide and his family, completed the arduous trek from Yellowhead Pass to Kamloops in 42 days. The doctor’s journal of the trip is now a classic in the province’s historical records.
