Mary Irene Parlby

A resident of the Alix area from 1896 to 1965, an able legislator, a member of the distinguished “Group of Five” who led the movement for admission of women to the Senate of Canada, Mrs. Parlby rendered significant service in the fields of education, social welfare, and legislative reform.

Mary Irene Parlby

Elle vécut dans la région d’Alix de 1896 à 1965 et fut une législatrice de grande valeur, membre du «Groupe des Cinq» qui obtint pour les Canadiennes le droit de siéger au Sénat. Madame Parlby a rendu d’incomparables services dans les domaines de l’enseignement, du bien-être social et de la réforme législative.
