Lunenburg Memorial Columns
These columns were dedicated on 11 November 1948 in memory of the local war dead of the Second World War and the Korean War. The Memorial is made of grey granite in the form of a semi-circle with four columns. On the edges of the top band are engraved the General Service crest, left, and the Town of Lunenburg crest, right. On the edges of the base are engraved 1939, left and 1945, right. A stone engraved with “Korea 1950-1953” has been placed as an addition on the base at the front of the Monument. The Honour Roll scroll tablet is placed almost flat on the base between the second and third columns.

Colonnes commémoratives de Lunenburg
Ces colonnes inaugurées le 11 novembre 1948 honorent la mémoire des citoyens de l’endroit tués pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale et la guerre de Corée. Le mémorial de granit gris se compose d’un demi-cercle et de quatre colonnes. L’écusson du service général, à gauche, et celui de la Ville de Lunenburg, à droite, sont gravés sur les bords de la bande du haut, tandis que les bords de la base portent les chiffres 1939, à gauche, et 1945, à droite. Une pierre à la mémoire de la guerre de Corée (1950-1953) a aussi été posée sur la base, à l’avant du monument. Une banderole portant un tableau d’honneur a été disposée presque à plat sur la base, entre la deuxième et la troisième colonne.
