Ladysmith Memorial Obelisk
Erected in 1922, this memorial is dedicated to the local war dead of the First and Second World Wars and to the veterans of the Korean War. The first unveiling of the war memorial was in January of 1923 at 1st Avenue and Gatacre Street. Since then, the memorial has been moved to three different locations. Unfortunately, during one of the moves, part of the memorial was broken to pieces and was never restored to its original state, as you will see by the pictures.
