Isaac’s House
Two miles South-West, on the South shore of the Saskatchewan River, Isaac’s House, also known as Fort Aux Trembles, was built in the fall of 1773. Named for Isaac Batt, who had left the employ of the Hudson’s Bay Company to join the rival pedlars from Montreal, the post was built by Bartholomew Blondeau for the partnership of James Mc Gill, Maurice Blondeau, and the Frobisher brothers. On the depletion of the furbearing animals in its neighbourhood the post was abandoned in the spring of 1777.
Isaac’s House
