Henry House
Founded in 1811 by the North West Company. After the discovery of the Athabaska Pass and its adoption in 1812, as the regular trade route to and from the Columbia, this post became, and remained for about twenty years, an important point in the transportation system of the North West Company and later of the Hudson’s Bay Company. Here began the difficult land passage across the Rocky Mountains.
