Gros Morne National Park

On Newfoundland’s west coast, the park shows plate tectonics in plain view: the Tablelands are rock from the Earth’s mantle pushed up to the surface. Freshwater fjords such as Western Brook Pond cut through the Long Range Mountains.

Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987 (natural site).
