In happy memory of Franklin Delano Roosevelt 1882-1945 Statesman and humanitarian, who during many years of his eventful life, found in this tranquil island, rest, refreshment, and freedom from care. To him it was always the “beloved island”.

À la mémoire heureuse de Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945), homme d’État et humaniste qui, pendant de nombreuses années de sa vie mouvementée, a trouvé sur cette île paisible le repos, le réconfort et la liberté d’esprit. Pour lui, elle a toujours été « l’île bien-aimée ».
