Early Anglicans
Saint Anne’s Anglican Church, the Islands oldest surviving log church, was founded in July 1894. Gravestones honour many new settlers who helped in its construction. In October 1896, the first wedding was celebrated by the Rev. Charles Cooper, the union of Irish Catholic Thomas Kinkade and Sarah Coqulamat, a Coastal First Nation widow.
