Donald Gunn
This subdivision was named after Donald Gunn who was the first white settler in the Good Spirit Lake area. Born in 1840 at the Red River Settlement, he moved his family to a homestead near Qu’Appelle in 1882. In 1887 he moved to Good Spirit Lake. Here he and his family established a trading post until the turn of the century. Mr. Gunn ranged his cattle throughout what is now the provincial park on the West side of Good Spirit Lake and cut many of the original trails through here. Donald Gunn died in 1927, but his family continued to operate the homestead near this subdivision which bears his name.
Donald Gunn
