Central Presbyterian Church Memorial Window

Window lists those who served in WW I and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in both WW I and WW II

In Mar, 2018, City of Cambridge councillors approved a recommendation to provide a $5,000 grant toward the $90,670 restoration project at the Central Presbyterian Church to fix a war memorial stained glass window. The church property had been designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1987 and the city’s heritage advisory committee had already approved a $5,000 grant for the project back in February, 2018.

According to a staff report, in 1920 the Robert McCausland Studios of Toronto installed the memorial stained glass window in the west corner of the church’s sanctuary to commemorate congregation members killed fighting in the First World War. In 1954 an additional panel was added to the window to commemorate those members who died during the Second World War. All of the churches windows are showing there age and are in need of rear and there is a long-term plan to repair them all, but the war memorial window has been chosen to done first.
