Bone Trail

The Bone Trail crossed near this marker. First used in transporting buffalo bones to the railway at Saskatoon, this trail after 1900 became the main thoroughfare for settlers going to the Goose Lake region. One-half mile South was the Schell Stopping Place, one of many such, which provided food and lodging for those who travelled. Joseph Schell filed on his homestead in 1902. His house served the public until the coming of the railway to this area in 1908.
