Vimy Memorial Bridge
The Vimy Memorial Bridge was completed in 2014 and spans the Rideau River, connecting Strandherd Drive and Earl Armstrong Road. Though opened to the public on 12 July as the Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge, on October 1, 2014, the city’s transportation committee officially renamed the bridge “Vimy Memorial Bridge” in recognition of the Canadian-led victory at the Battle of Vimy Ridge (9-12 April 1917).
