Poplar Point & District Memorial Rink
The Poplar Point & District Memorial Rink is a monumentally-scaled cylindrical wood and aluminum structure; it is a high-arched recreational facility featuring an impressive superstructure of laminated wooden arches bound to a skin of aluminum-covered wooden boards. It occupies a tree-planted site within extensive grassed grounds in the J.P. Bend Memorial Park at Poplar Point. It was erected in 1949 as a Second World War memorial, and was later restored, mainly by volunteer labour.

Patinoire commémorative de Poplar Point et du district
La patinoire commémorative de Poplar Point et du district est une immense structure cylindrique de bois et d’aluminium. Il s’agit d’une installation récréative à arche élevée dont l’impressionnante superstructure est faite d’arches de bois laminé à un parement de planches de bois habillées d’aluminium. La patinoire se trouve dans un espace planté d’arbres des vastes terrains gazonnés du parc commémoratif J.P. Bend de Poplar Point. Construite en 1949 à titre de monument commémoratif de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la patinoire commémorative a depuis été rénovée, surtout grâce au secours de bénévoles.
