Grandview Memorial Bell
The Grandview Memorials are set in a triangular shaped plot of land bounded on the East by Provincial Trunk Highway 366 (which runs north and south), on the north west by Main Street (which runs south west to north east) and by an south east – north west line separating the plot from residential housing on the South. (Also refer to memorial no. 46004-018 and 032) The site (originally designated as the Grandview Memorial Park) was donated by the Town of Grandview and it is understood that the Town and the Rural Municipality supported the original construction of the Cenotaph which was turned over to Branch 14 of the Royal Canadian Legion to use and maintain. The Memorial Bell and Commemorative Tablet (see memorial no. 46004-019) are located to the north of the Cenotaph at the top of the triangular plot. They were established by the Girl Guides of Grandview to honour all those men from the Town and District who died in service during the First World War. While the bell and its supporting concrete base are in good condition, the Tablet is showing signs of requiring refurbishment to maintain its appearance and the legibility of the lettering.
