Milton Cenotaph
The monument, supplied by the Thomson Monument Company of Toronto, was erected by the public by subscription. The monument was unveiled on September 5, 1926 by Col. Henry Cockshutt, Lieut. Governor of Ontario. This memorial is dedicated to those who died in the First and Second World Wars and the Korea. The Milton Historical Society has made a web site that posts all the details for each of the 51 soldiers listed on the memorial (www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca). One name on the memorial remains a mystery. It is not a soldier but a member of the women’s auxiliary corps, not in the Canadian Expeditionary Force but rather the British Expeditionary Force.
