William Stephenson Memorial Statue
This memorial is dedicated to Sir William S. Stephenson, the Man called Intrepid. Sir William S. Stephenson was a Canadian soldier, airman, businessman, inventor, spymaster and the senior representative of British intelligence for the entire western hemisphere during the Second World War. Stephenson était soldat, aviateur, homme d’affaires, inventeur, maître espion et chef du renseignement britannique pour l’ensemble de l’hémisphère occidental pendant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale. Stephenson est mieux connu sous le nom de code « Intrepid », qu’il utilisait à titre d’espion pendant la guerre. Il est né à Winnipeg le 23 janvier 1897.
