Verner War Memorial

This memorial, which is built around a M-114 howitzer, is dedicated to the local veterans of the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. It was erected by Mr. Larry G. Morin and the municipalities of Caldwell and West Nipissing.

In the back of the howitzer is a row of flagpoles for each province. A stone on each side of the walkway has a plaque with the names of the men from Verner who died at war.

Ce mémorial, construit autour d’un canon howitzer M-114, est dédié aux anciens combattants locaux ayant servi durant les Première et Seconde Guerres mondiales et la guerre de Corée. Il a été érigé par monsieur Larry G. Morin et par les municipalités de Caldwell et West Nipissing.

Derrière l’obusier se trouve une rangée de mâts de drapeaux pour chaque province. Sur chaque pierre située des deux côtés de la passerelle se trouve une plaque portant les noms des hommes de Verner qui sont morts à la guerre.
