Palmerston War Memorial

The Palmerston war memorial was installed in a park near the Palmerston Carnegie Library, 265 Bell Street NOG 2PO at James Street in Dec 15 1919. The library is now known as the Wellington Public Library in the town of Minto Ontario. The names of 145 locals who enlisted during the Great War were engraved in the base of the memorial. Later, names were engraved after World War II. The sculpture of a soldier at ease was carved out of Italian marble. The base was made of grey granite.
