Sinclair Park

Sinclair Park is a neighbourhood playground located on two lots mid-block in the residential neighbourhood of Glenbrooke North on the south side of Sinclair Avenue between First and Second Streets.

Constructed in 1954, Sinclair Park, with its close connection to surrounding housing, is an important marker of the child-oriented planning of residential parks after the Second World War, and reflects the City’s long-standing park planning policy.

The park is also important for its value in the neighbourhood as an open and natural place to play, and is apprecaited for its incorporation of recreational facilities (play structures, bench seating).

Sinclair Park is important for being in the approximate line of the historic Glen Creek . Although the creek has been buried in a culvert, this park is a physical link to the historic landscape that gave the neighbourhood its name.

Le parc Sinclair est un terrain de jeu de quartier situé sur deux lots au milieu d’un îlot dans le quartier résidentiel de Glenbrooke North, du côté sud de la Sinclair Avenue, entre les rues First et Second.

Aménagé en 1954, le parc Sinclair, étroitement lié aux habitations qui l’entourent, est un témoin important de la planification axée sur les enfants des parcs résidentiels après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, et reflète la politique de longue date de la Ville en matière de planification des parcs.

Le parc est également important pour sa valeur dans le quartier en tant que lieu de jeu ouvert et naturel, et il est apprécié pour l’intégration d’installations récréatives (structures de jeu, bancs).

Le parc Sinclair est important parce qu’il suit approximativement le tracé de l’ancien ruisseau Glen Creek. Bien que le ruisseau ait été enfoui dans un ponceau, ce parc constitue un lien physique avec le paysage historique qui a donné son nom au quartier.
