Rioux Residence
The Rioux Residence, situated on J. D. Gauthier Boulevard in Shippagan, includes the house, the outbuildings, and the grounds. Built in the early 1900s, the house is a one-and-a-half storey Gothic Revival structure with a tin roof and steeply pitched gable windows.
The heritage value of the Rioux Residence lies in its historical interest. It is one of the oldest homes in the Town of Shippagan. The residence was built by Aldéric Duguay of Paquetville in the early 1900’s.
The heritage value is also based on its architectural interest. The structure is a very good example of the Gothic Revival style, with steeply pitched gable windows and gingerbread bargeboard at the top of the gables.
