Beaver
Here, on 26th July, 1888, the Steamer “Beaver” was wrecked.
This historic vessel was built for the Hudson’s Bay Company at Blackwall, England, in 1836, sailed for this coast immediately and was the pioneer steamship of the Pacific Ocean.
The story of the “Beaver” is the story of the early development of the western coast of Canada.

Ce navire historique, construit pour la Compagnie de la Baie d’Hudson à Blackwall, en Angleterre, en 1836, a aussitôt mis le cap sur cette côte et a été le premier navire à vapeur de l’océan Pacifique.
